Edit for Gabriella

Good job in your shooting around Yale Campus, Gabriella... One of the huge parts of the class is to begin editing your pictures for light and contrast... Taking the picture is the first half of the process... editing in Photoshop closes the circle and vastly improves the result of your work... Here is a before and after  of one of your shots...

After making a feathered selection with the lasso tool and then using levels (ctrl-L) in Photoshop

Before, without editing.  The focal point (the face) is hiding in the shadows... Try to make the focal point the source of light and the quality of your work will greatly improve.
